Too many websites promoting the release of a movie are bland and offer the same bland behind-the-scenes sleep fodder that hundreds of bland websites before it have. On The Simpsons Movie website, however, you can get for free what bootleggers posing as disgruntled “Simpsons” animators on the ‘Net will sell you for $100 — a rendering of you as a “Simpsons” character. Mix-and-match from various body types, eyes, noses, mouths, hair and the like, and store your character online and watch it turn up while you are browsing the site (or print it or send it to a friend). The site is an easter egg-loaded virtual tour of Springfield, which can take longer than the 87 minutes the movie runs to explore.
